No need to focus on BAC alone, either. The new algorithms consider a range of mammographic features, making them more effective—especially for women under 80. For those over 80? Well, good luck. Additionally, the AI model developed at Emory Healthcare is trained on data from over 56,000 patients, enhancing its accuracy in assessing cardiovascular risks.

Integrating these AI models into routine screenings is straightforward. No extra lab tests or medical history required. This innovative approach could help address the underdiagnosis and undertreatment of cardiovascular disease in women.

Imagine this: about 40 million mammograms are conducted annually in the U.S. This makes it a goldmine for identifying cardiovascular risks.
